Meet the New Bern Grand Marina staff:

Mike Hawkins - Marina Maintenance Supervisor

Mike has been with New Bern Grand Marina since 2011. He and his wife Carol have five children and six grandchildren, all living in Ohio. Mike has been involved in boating since early childhood mainly on lakes, rivers and Lake Erie, and formerly held a captains license. Mike and Carol currently own a 1971, 58 foot Chris-Craft Roamer. Mike is a Viet Nam Veteran, US Army (ret), retired from North Carolina Department of Corrections, was the Ohio Branch Manager of Continental Secret Service Bureau Inc., owner/CEO of a historic preservation and restoration company, and a deputy sheriff in Ohio.

Diana Ipock - Assistant Dockmaster

Di is a native of New Bern and spent much of her childhood on the water boating, skiing, fishing, and swimming. In 2010, while living in Mt. Airy, she earned her basic OW SCUBA certification and is currently working towards advanced. She is an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 20-04 serving as Flotilla Staff Officer-Public Affairs and as Instructor. She is working towards her Marine Safety Environmental Protection (MSEP) qualification, and previously served as Vessel Examiner and Marine Dealer Visitor. During the winter months she volunteers with the North Carolina Aquarium Pine Knoll Shores at the Stingray Touch Tank and Turtle Discovery Cart. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, movies, and books about maritime history and pirates.

Archie Bricker

Archie grew up in Toms River, NJ in a sailing family, participating in sailboat racing. He settled down after college in Vermont and was a builder in the Putney area for years. After moving to New Bern in 2005 he continued in the renovation and home repair business, and sailed his 34 O'Day on the Neuse. Having made a the change to a trawler recently, he and his wife enjoy excursions in the area.

Doug Walker - Dockmaster

Doug is from St. Augustine, Florida. Doug returned to his passion for boating after working in the corporate world where he served as Voice Operations Manager and Technology Manager for Bank of America. Doug is a proud Navy Veteran. He held a 100 Ton Master License and captained multiple yachts from the Palm Beach area along with running the tow and rescue boat out of St. Augustine. Doug served as assistant dock master at several marinas from West Palm to St. Augustine. Doug has years of diving experience, both military and recreational. He owned a dive service company and worked at AUTEC in the Bahamas as a diver and 1st Mate onboard a research vessel. He also worked in boat manufacturing at both Luhrs and Rybovich. Doug and his team work diligently to provide the highest level of service. Doug is passionate about his marina and the customers he serves. He looks forward to meeting new faces and building the New Bern Grand Marina Yacht Club family.
